Welcome to my webpage!
Hello! I'm Connor Demming and I was selected to compete in the 2024 US Olympic Team Trials in Sailing and I am pursuing my dream to represent the United States in future Olympic Games.
I have been sailing competitively since I was eight-years old and have raced nationally and internationally representing the United States in world championship regattas. In 2023, I was a recruited by the College of Charleston as a Division 1-A Varsity Sailing Athlete and I'm a rising sophomore on its top 10 nationally ranked dinghy team.
I currently compete in the International 470 Olympic Sailing Class and have also competed in the International Laser Class Association's 7 Class (ILCA 7). I have been coached by US Olympian Stuart McNay, British Olympian Steve Mitchell, Venezuelan Olympian Andres Lage', Pedro Mascarenhas, and Maru Urban. Conner Blouin is my head coach at the College of Charleston and I participate in its rigorous athletic training program, which focuses on fitness, strength, agility, and nutrition.
In high school, I was a four-year varsity A and B boat skipper on the Conestoga High School Sailing Team and led it back-to-back championships my junior and senior seasons as the Varsity A skipper competing in FJs. I was also point guard for the Conestoga High School Varsity Basketball Team and the T/E Sharks AAU Basketball Team and competed in basketball showcases across the country. I have a 3.7 GPA at the College of Charleston and I'm planning to pursue a degree in business. Please read below to learn more about me!
